Hi I’m Missy. I’m married to my wonderful husband Donnie and we LOVE to travel. It is amazingly awesome to experience other places and lifestyles other than your home. The history, the culture, and the sights are what we love most about traveling. I also LOVE to get great deals and travel on a budget. This page will share aspects of both. Sometimes posts may be some really great travel advice and other days it may be about somewhere we visited. Also, travel traveling with mobility issues can be difficult so I hope to be able to share info that may help others get out and see the World.
I am a freelancer. Currently, I provide my services as an executive assistant to the executive director of Delaware and Maryland’s Associations of Soil Conservation Districts. I love this work because it allows me to work with people in the agriculture field. I was majoring in Agri Business when I was in a car accident that left me paralyzed from my torso down. I don’t let that stop me though… I am very passionate about field hockey and coach at St. Peter & Paul High School and club team Shore Field Hockey. Life is what you make of it!
Donnie is a teacher at a local middle school where he teaches English as a Second Language for students that are new to the country. He also helps as an interpreter as he is fluent in speaking Spanish. He has a goal to run a half marathon in each state, so we go many places to help him check that off his list. So far, he has run in 15 states plus DC and we always have plans to check the next state off the list.
We also love sports and being outdoors! I use a wheelchair to get around but that doesn’t get in our way. We are very good at adapting to our surroundings and creating our own path! We’ve even hiked for hours on mountain passes to see waterfalls 🙂 I feel blessed to have someone willing to help break down barriers.
We were destined to journey through life together. Before we were even a couple we traveled to England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland on a school trip. I was in 8th grade and he was in 11th! Since we have actually be together, we have visited 22 states and 9 countries: France, Italy, Dominican Republic (where we got married), Cuba, the Bahamas, Portugal, Morocco, Andorra, and Spain. I hope you will follow us on our journeys.
