Take a trip with us!
I tried a while back to start a travel blog but shortly after I did Covid started and we did not travel anywhere for quite a while. We have gotten back into traveling and every time we go somewhere I think about how I should be sharing what we learn about our travels so that others can travel too. Well, I have finally gotten out of my own way and created this website to do just that!!! Fingers crossed that I can bring some worthwhile content to everyone.
I love life and I love to travel so naturally my blog posts will be about traveling and living life to the fullest. I want to share about destinations, ways to get good deals, insider tips for wheelchair travelers and of course motivational affirmations because who doesn’t enjoy those?
I think that traveling is such a gratifying experience for me because you find a greater appreciation for the world. Being up close and personal with the landscape, history, and culture of a location are what it is all about for me. Matter of fact, history and culture were always my favorite subjects in school and actually I almost majored in history, but I could never actually figure out what I would do with that degree (I knew I didn’t want to be a teacher!) You have all browsed and liked my facebook posts as Donnie and I have traveled to many places in these past years. I plan to go back and turn them into blog posts of their own and add in even more info while sharing on our future travels as well.
“Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.” -Gustav Flaubert
Traveling is something I think that everyone should get to experience. It doesn’t have to be far and it can be done on the cheap (I also plan to post about this!) so just go do it. I intend to inspire you all to enrich your lives by visiting somewhere other than home. There’s a wealth of history, culture, and knowledge at you fingertips all you have to do is reach for it <3
Now that we talked about why I love to travel let’s talk about why I love life. If you know me then you know that I have been through my share of sh** plus some. I had a good childhood and enjoyed many things because I had great parents. I was a star athlete which afforded me many experiences that others may not. My parents always taught me to work hard, know what I want, and never ever give up. It is a great thing that they raised me that way because a few months before my 19th birthday I had a car accident that changed my life forever. I spent nearly 6 months in the hospital and rehab and there were times that it was unknown if I would make it. I was left paralyzed from my t5/t6 down. When something like that happens you have a different view of life. For me I realized that even though this sucks that it happened I have a second chance at life. I have more time to spend with family and friends, I have more time to reach life goals, more time to travel … I have more time! With that said I try to enjoy everyday that I have on this Earth.
Tomorrow is not guaranteed so live your life to the fullest. Tell your family and friends you love them and do it often. You only have this one life to live 🙂
